# Edit items in the Jovvie Point of Sale cart

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Take payments

> Change quantity or price, remove an item, or clear the whole cart before you take payment.

The cart lists everything in the current sale. This page shows how to change an item’s quantity or price, remove an item, or start over before you take payment.

## Before you start

- Add at least one product to the cart. See [Find and add products](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/add-products/).
- You can edit a new sale, or a saved order that has not been paid and still has the status **Pending payment**, **Failed**, or a custom status. Any other order shows its items as read only.
- Changing a price needs permission. An administrator or shop manager decides which staff can do this. If you do not see **Product Price** in the item menu, you do not have it.

## Change the quantity

1. In the cart, find the item.
2. Tap the three-dot menu on the item’s line.
3. Tap **Quantity**.
4. Enter the new quantity on the keypad. Use a whole number greater than zero.
5. Tap the checkmark button on the keypad.

The line total updates. Items with a quantity above one also show the quantity beside the name.

## Change the price of one item

Use this to give a discount on a single line or to correct a price.

1. In the cart, find the item.
2. Tap the three-dot menu on the item’s line.
3. Tap **Product Price**.
4. Enter the new price for one item on the keypad. Or choose a percent button to take that percent off the starting price.
5. Tap the checkmark button on the keypad.

The line total updates. The new price applies to this sale only. It does not change the product in your store.

## Change a weight

For a product sold by weight, the menu also has **Weight** and **Weight Price**. See [Sell a product by weight](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/weight-products/).

## Change the options on an item

If the item has add-ons, the menu shows **Edit**. See [Choose product options and add-ons](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/product-add-ons/).

## See product information

To check an item’s details, tap **Product info** in the same menu.

## Remove an item

1. In the cart, find the item.
2. Tap the three-dot menu on the item’s line.
3. Tap **Remove**.

The register shows **Item removed**.

## Clear the cart

Use this to start the sale over. It removes every item and coupon.

1. Tap the three-dot menu in the cart totals area, above the **Total**.
2. Tap **Clear Cart**.

The register shows **Cart cleared** and the cart shows **Cart is empty**.

**Clear Cart** does not appear when the cart is empty or when you are looking at a saved order. An administrator or shop manager can hide this button for a station.
