# Log out of the Jovvie Point of Sale register

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Take payments

> Log out of the register when you finish, and respond when the register asks whether you are still there.

When you finish for the day, log out of the register. Logging out signs you out on this device, so the next person has to sign in with their own account.

## Before you start

- Sign in to the register. See [Open the Jovvie Point of Sale register and sign in](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/open-the-register/).
- If you are only stepping away for a moment, lock the station instead. See [Lock the station](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/lock-the-station/).

## Log out

1. Open the menu.
2. Click **Log out**.

Some stations also show a log out icon at the right of the top bar. It does the same thing.

The **Log out** button and the top bar icon may be hidden on some stations. If you do not see either, ask an administrator or shop manager.

## If the register asks whether you are still there

If the register shows **User Inactivity Check**, you have not used it for a while.

- To stay signed in, click **OK**.
- To sign out, click **Logout**.
