# Set up Stripe invoice payment terms in Jovvie Point of Sale

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Set up

> Choose Stripe invoice payment terms in Jovvie Point of Sale and set up automatic order status updates after payment.

Choose the payment terms staff can offer when they send a Stripe invoice from the Jovvie Point of Sale register. The customer gets an email with a payment link, and the payment term staff choose sets how many days that link stays valid. You decide which terms staff can choose from.

Invoices use your connected Stripe account. The **Invoice** payment method only appears in the register after Stripe is connected.

## Before you start

- Connect Stripe. See [Connect Stripe to Jovvie Point of Sale](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/set-up/connect-stripe/).
- Turn on **Invoice** in **POS** > **Settings** > **Gateway**. See [Choose payment methods](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/set-up/payment-methods/).
- You need to be an administrator or shop manager.

If a station uses its own payment methods (**Gateway Source** set to **Use Station-Level**), set the terms on the station’s **Gateway** tab instead of in **POS** > **Settings** > **Gateway**, and click **Save** instead of **Save Changes**.

## Set up payment terms

New sites start with four terms: **Due on Receipt**, **Net 30**, **Net 60**, and **Net 90**. You can rename, add, or remove terms.

1. In your dashboard, go to **POS** > **Settings** > **Gateway**.
2. Click **Setting** next to **Invoice**.
3. Go to **Payment terms**.
4. To rename a term, change its **Label**.
5. To change how long a term’s payment link works, enter a number of days from 1 to 365 in **Link valid (days)**.
6. To add a term, click **Add term**, then fill in its **Label** and **Link valid (days)**. You can have up to six terms.
7. To remove a term, click the remove button at the end of its row. You must keep at least one term.
8. Under **Default**, select the term staff see selected first.
9. Click **Save Changes**.

## Let staff pick a due date

You can also let staff choose a specific due date for an invoice, instead of one of your terms.

1. On the same **Invoice** screen, check **Allow a custom due date at checkout**.
2. In the **Label** next to it, enter the name staff see for this option. The default is **Custom**.
3. Click **Save Changes**.

Staff can pick any date from tomorrow up to one year ahead. If they pick a date outside that range, they see **Pick a date within the next year.**

## Choose the order status after payment

When the customer pays the invoice, the order moves to the **Order Status** set for **Invoice** in **POS** > **Settings** > **Gateway**. The default is **Processing**. To change it, see [Choose payment methods](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/set-up/payment-methods/#choose-the-order-status-after-payment).

## Update order status automatically when an invoice is paid

To have orders update as soon as the customer pays, the invoice [webhook](https://docs.jovvie.com/start-here/glossary/#webhook) must be set up for your Point of Sale connection. Here, a webhook is an automatic message Jovvie sends to your store when something happens, such as an invoice payment. Your dashboard shows the address to use, and Jovvie support helps you set it up.

1. Go to **POS** > **Settings** > **Stripe Connect**.
2. Find **Invoice Webhook URL**.
3. Copy the address.
4. Contact [Jovvie support](https://jovvie.com/support/) and ask for help setting up the invoice webhook for your Point of Sale connection.

If you need the optional **Webhook Signing Key** on the same tab, ask Jovvie support how to set it up. Never send the signing key itself by email or chat.

## What staff see

When staff choose **Invoice** at checkout, they pick one of your terms (or a custom date, if you allowed it). The payment link expires after that many days.

Staff can use **Resend** on an unpaid invoice order:

- If the payment link is still active, **Resend** emails the customer the same link again.
- If the link has expired, **Resend** creates a new link and emails it.

> **Caution**
>
> Before resending an expired invoice, confirm in your Stripe Dashboard that no payment for the order succeeded and none is still processing. If you are not sure, or the order is **On hold** after the customer paid, do not send another link or take payment another way. Contact [Jovvie support](https://jovvie.com/support/) first.

For the full steps, see [Send an invoice to pay later](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/sell/invoice/).
