# Show an order count badge in Jovvie Point of Sale

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Set up

> Show a count of orders in the statuses you choose on the Orders button, and set how often it refreshes.

An order notification badge shows a number on the **Orders** button on the register. The number is how many orders are in the statuses you choose. This helps staff notice orders that need attention, such as new online orders. This page shows you how to turn it on. Each [station](https://docs.jovvie.com/start-here/glossary/#station) has its own settings.

## Before you start

- You need to be an administrator or shop manager.
- The badge only shows for users who can view orders. The **Orders** button must also be shown for the station. See [Show or hide register buttons](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/set-up/register-buttons/).

## Turn on the badge

1. In your dashboard, go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Find the station and click **Edit Station**.
3. Open the **General** tab.
4. Go to the **Order Notifications** section.
5. Select **Enable Order Notification Badge**.
6. Click **Save**.

This is off by default.

## Choose which orders are counted

1. In **Order Statuses to Count**, choose **All** to count orders in every status, or choose **Select** and pick the statuses to count.
2. Click **Save**.

The default is **All**. Statuses come from your store.

## Set how often the badge refreshes

1. In **Polling Interval (seconds)**, enter how many seconds to wait between updates. The lowest value is 10. The default is 60.
2. Click **Save**.

The badge updates while the register is open and visible. It pauses when the browser tab is in the background and updates again when staff return to it.

Staff who already have the register open may need to reload it to see changes.
