# Change product display in Jovvie Point of Sale

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Set up

> Choose tiles or a list, set photos, colors, sorting, and grid size, and decide how variations are picked on the register.

Change how products and categories look in the Jovvie Point of Sale register so they are easy for your staff to find and tap. Each Point of Sale station has its own settings, and this page covers the display options for one station.

## Before you start

- You need to be an administrator or shop manager.
- To change products on a station, go to **POS** > **Stations**, find the station, and click **Edit Station**.

Product display options are on the **Products** tab. Grid size is on the **Display** tab.

## Show photos and choose tiles or a list

1. Open the station’s **Products** tab.
2. Under **Tiles**, select or clear **Show Photo in Tile**. It is on by default. Showing photos may make the register load more slowly.
3. Optional: select **Crisp images on high-resolution displays**. It is off by default. It makes images sharper on high-resolution screens but uses more bandwidth and may slow startup on slow connections or low-powered devices.
4. Under **Tile Display**, open **Default Display Style** and choose **Display products as Tiles** or **Display products as List**.
5. Click **Save**.

## Show product details in a window

A modal is a window that opens on top of the register screen. This option opens a product’s details in one.

1. On the **Products** tab, go to **Product Details**.
2. Select **Show product details in modal**.
3. Click **Save**.

This is off by default.

## Choose how variations are picked

A variable product comes in several versions, such as sizes or colors. Choose how staff pick the version.

1. On the **Products** tab, go to **Variation Selection**.
2. Under **How should variable product variations be selected?**, choose **Show variations as tiles** or **Select variation in modal**.
3. Click **Save**.

## Sort products

1. On the **Products** tab, go to **Tile Sorting**.

2. Open **Sort products in tabs by** and choose one of:

   - **Sort by price: High to low**
   - **Sort by price: Low to high**
   - **Sort by A to Z**
   - **Sort by Z to A**

3. Click **Save**.

## Change the number of tiles per row

1. Open the station’s **Display** tab.
2. Open the **Product Grid Layout** section.
3. Use the three **Tiles per row** lists. They are in this order: desktop or laptop, tablet, and mobile.
4. For each one, choose **Auto (fit to screen)** or a number from 1 to 8.
5. Click **Save**.

The register picks the list that matches the device’s main input. Phone-width screens use the mobile setting. Touch screens use the tablet setting. Devices with a mouse or trackpad use the desktop or laptop setting. A touch device with a mouse attached may be treated as desktop, depending on the browser. **Auto (fit to screen)** is the default.

## Change tile colors for the whole station

1. On the **Products** tab, go to **Global Tile Styling**.
2. Under **Product Tiles**, set colors for **Product Name**, **Product Sub Text**, **Product Price**, **Out Of Stock Text**, and **Tile background**.
3. Optional: select **Hide Sub Text** or **Hide Product Price** to hide those lines on product tiles.
4. Under **Category Tiles**, set colors for **Category Name**, **Category Count**, and **Tile Background**.
5. Click **Save**.

## Style one product or category differently

Colors set on a single product or category replace the station colors for that tile.

1. To style a product, open it in **Products** and find the **POS product tile** box in the side column. To style a category, open it under **Products** > **Categories** and find **POS category tile**.
2. Select **Override Global Color Styling**.
3. Set the colors. Product options include **Product name**, **Product sub text**, **Hide sub text**, **Product price**, **Hide product price**, **Out of stock text**, and **Tile background**. Category options include **Category name**, **Category count**, and **Tile background**.
4. Click **Update**.

Staff who already have the register open may need to reload it to see changes.
