# Create and manage Jovvie Point of Sale stations

Section: Jovvie Point of Sale > Set up

> Add Point of Sale stations, find each station's address, open the register, and delete stations you no longer need.

Create, open, and manage Jovvie Point of Sale stations in either Standalone or WooCommerce. A [station](https://docs.jovvie.com/start-here/glossary/#station) is one register in Point of Sale. Most Point of Sale settings are saved for each station, so each station can have its own products, taxes, currency, users, and payment methods.

## Before you start

- You need to be an administrator or shop manager.

**If you use Standalone:**

Point of Sale is already in your dashboard, under **POS**.

**If you use WooCommerce:**

Install and connect Point of Sale first. See [Install and connect Jovvie Point of Sale for WooCommerce](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/woocommerce/install-and-connect/).

## The two stations you start with

Point of Sale creates two stations for you.

- **Primary Station**: the station you use for in-person sales. It is the default station.
- **Online Storefront Station**: stands in for your online store. It uses your store address, tax settings, and stock quantities, so those fields show a link to your store settings instead.

You cannot delete either of these stations.

## See your stations

1. In your dashboard, go to **POS** > **Stations**.

The list shows each station’s **Title**, **Home URL**, and **Actions**.

## Add a station

1. Go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Click **Add New Station** at the top of the page.
3. Enter a name for the station in the title field.
4. Choose your settings on the **General**, **Products**, **Display**, **Cart**, **Tax**, **Users**, and **Gateway** tabs. The **Stripe** tab is also available after Stripe is connected.
5. Click **Save**.

You see **Station Created**.

## Find a station’s address

The **Home URL** column shows the web address staff use to open that station. To copy it, click the copy icon next to the address.

If the column shows a dash, the address is not available yet. See [Connection and plan messages](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/troubleshooting/connection/).

## Open the register

1. Go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Click **View POS** on the station row.

The register opens in a new browser tab. **View POS** only appears for users who are allowed to use that station. On a WooCommerce store, it is also not available until your WordPress site is connected to Jovvie. See [Install and connect Jovvie Point of Sale for WooCommerce](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/woocommerce/install-and-connect/).

## Change a station’s settings

1. Go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Click **Edit Station** on the station row.
3. Change the settings you need.
4. Click **Save**.

You see **POS Station updated.**

## Delete a station

> **Caution**
>
> Deleting a station cannot be undone. Orders placed at that station will no longer open in the register.

1. Go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Click **Edit Station** on the station you want to remove.
3. On the **General** tab, scroll to the bottom and click **Delete Permanently**.
4. Confirm the warning.

Deleting a station also removes the Stripe card reader location that Jovvie created for it. Set up your readers again on another station if you still need them. See [Set up card readers for a station](https://docs.jovvie.com/point-of-sale/set-up/card-readers/).

**Delete Permanently** does not appear for **Primary Station** or **Online Storefront Station**.
