# Set up customer tips in Jovvie Point of Sale

> Turn on the tip screen for a station and choose which tip options customers see.

Set up Jovvie Point of Sale to let customers add a tip when they pay. When tips are on, the register shows an **Add a Tip** screen after the cart and before payment. Each station has its own tip settings.

## Before you start

- You need to be an administrator or shop manager.

## Turn on tips

1. In your dashboard, go to **POS** > **Stations**.
2. Find the station and click **Edit Station**.
3. Open the **Cart** tab.
4. Under **Customer Tips**, select **Enable Tip on Checkout**.
5. Click **Save**.

Tips are off by default.

## Choose which tip options show

1. On the **Cart** tab, open **Tip Options**.

2. Choose one:

   - **Percent, Custom and No tips** (the default)
   - **Percent tip only**
   - **Percent and No tips**
   - **Percent and Custom tips**
   - **Custom tip only**
   - **Custom and No tips**

3. Click **Save**.

What each part does on the tip screen:

- **Percent:** buttons that show a percentage and the tip amount. The amount is that percentage of the total due.
- **Custom:** lets the customer or staff enter any tip amount they choose.
- **No tip:** adds a **No Tip** button.

> **Note**
>
> If you do not include **No tips**, the tip screen has no **No Tip** button. Staff must choose a percent or enter a custom amount to continue.

## Change the percent buttons

The percent buttons show only if you chose an option that includes percent tips.

1. On the **Cart** tab, find **Percent tip options**.
2. Edit a number to change that button.
3. Click **Add Row** to add another percent button, or **Remove** to delete one.
4. Click **Save**.

The defaults are 15, 20, and 25 percent.
