Install and connect Jovvie Checkout for Gravity Forms

This page helps you install the Jovvie add-on for Gravity Forms and connect it to your Jovvie account, so your forms can take card payments on a card reader. The add-on is a ready-made way to use Jovvie Checkout with Gravity Forms. It works with Stripe and takes one-time payments.

  • Gravity Forms 2.5 or later is installed and active on your WordPress site. If it is not, WordPress shows the notice Jovvie Payments Gateway for Gravity Forms requires Gravity Forms 2.5 or later with the payment add-on framework.
  • You are signed in to WordPress as an administrator.
  • You can sign in to, or create, a Jovvie account, and you can link a Stripe account to it.
  • Your browser allows pop-up windows from your WordPress site. The connection steps open a pop-up window.
  1. Open the Jovvie add-on page on the Gravity Forms site.
  2. Download the add-on ZIP file from that page.
  3. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
  4. Click Upload Plugin.
  5. Click Choose File and select the ZIP file you downloaded.
  6. Click Install Now.
  7. Click Activate Plugin.

In your WordPress Plugins list, the plugin appears as Jovvie Payments Gateway for Gravity Forms.

  1. In WordPress, go to Forms > Settings > Jovvie Payments.

  2. In the Jovvie Payments Account group, find Connection Status.

After you connect, Connection Status shows Connected in green.

If it still shows the Connect with Jovvie Payments button, the plugin could not confirm the connection. If the pop-up shows Could not validate the returned keys. or Unable to connect. Please try again later., close it, click Connect with Jovvie Payments again, and try once more. If it fails again, contact Jovvie support.

This add-on has its own Test Mode setting. It is a checkbox labeled Use the Jovvie test environment, in the Jovvie Payments Account group. The same keys work for live and test, so you do not connect again to switch.

  1. Select Use the Jovvie test environment.
  2. Save your settings.

In test mode, no real card is charged. Clear the checkbox and save again before you take real payments. See Use test mode.

The same settings page has a read-only Webhook field. A webhook is an automatic message Jovvie sends to your site. Jovvie uses it to tell your site about payment failures, cancellations, and refunds. Without it, your entries do not show these changes. Contact Jovvie support to confirm your webhook is set up.

  1. Set up a location and readers. See Settings reference, and for the general idea, Set up a location and readers in WordPress.
  2. Add Jovvie to a form.
  3. Take an in-person payment with a form.
