Record paid in, paid out, drops, and adjustments in Jovvie Point of Sale
Use these actions when cash moves in or out of the drawer for a reason other than a sale. Each one changes the Expected Total, so it still matches your count when you close the till.
| Action | Use it when | Effect on the expected total |
|---|---|---|
| Paid In | You add cash to the drawer, such as extra change from the safe. | Adds the amount. |
| Paid Out | You take cash from the drawer to pay for something, such as a delivery. | Subtracts the amount. |
| Drop | You move cash out of the drawer for safekeeping, such as to a safe. | Subtracts the amount. |
| Adjustment | You need to add a correction to the expected total. | Adds the amount. |
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A till is open for this station. See Open the till.
- You have permission to manage cash.
- If your station asks for a PIN on this action, have the Cash Management PIN ready.
Record a cash event
Section titled “Record a cash event”- Select the three-dot button in the cart to open the cart menu.
- Select Cash Management.
- If the station accepts more than one currency, select the currency tab first.
- Under Actions, select Paid In, Paid Out, Drop, or Adjustment.
- In Amount, enter the amount as a positive number. The register adds or subtracts it for you based on the action you chose.
- Optional: in Note, enter the reason.
- Select Submit.
- If the Enter Cash Management PIN screen appears, enter the PIN. If it does not appear, skip the next step.
- Select Verify.
The register shows a message such as Paid In recorded successfully and returns to the Cash Till screen. The Expected Total updates.
Fix a mistake
Section titled “Fix a mistake”You cannot edit or delete an event after you submit it. If you recorded the wrong amount, record a second event in the opposite direction (for example, a Paid In to undo a Paid Out) and add a note explaining why.
See the event history
Section titled “See the event history”- On the Cash Till screen, select Event History.
- Scroll the list. The newest event is first.
- If the list ends with Load More, select it to see older events.
- Select the close button at the top right of the list to go back.
Each event shows its type, its amount (with a plus or minus sign), the date and time, and its note. Besides the events described in Record a cash event, the history includes entries the register adds by itself:
- Opening Float, when you open the till.
- Cash Payment, for each cash sale or cash part of a split payment, while the till is open.
- Cash Refund, for each refund of a cash sale, while the till is open. A refund of an order paid with a split payment that included cash also adds a Cash Refund. It uses the full refund amount, even if part of the money went back by card or another method. If so, record an Adjustment for the part that did not leave the drawer.
If the list is empty, you see No events found.
