Choose product options and add-ons in Jovvie Point of Sale for WooCommerce
This page is for stores that connect Point of Sale to their own WooCommerce store and use a compatible product add-ons plugin. Some products come with choices, such as a size, a topping, or a line of engraving text. Extra options can add to the price. The register shows these choices on a product screen before the item goes in the cart, and this page shows you how to pick them.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Product options and add-ons need a product add-ons plugin that works with Jovvie to be installed and active on your store. Without it, products show no option screen. Contact Jovvie support if you are not sure which plugin to use.
- An administrator or shop manager sets up the groups and options on each product. This page covers choosing them at the register.
- Sign in to the register. See Open the Jovvie Point of Sale register and sign in.
Add a product with options
Section titled “Add a product with options”- Tap the product tile. A product with options opens its own screen instead of going straight to the cart.
- Choose from each group of options. Each group has a heading, and the option can be one of these types:
- Choose one: tap one option. Choosing another replaces the first.
- Choose several: tap each option you want. Tap again to remove it.
- Text: type into the box next to the option, such as a name to engrave.
- If an option lets you pick a quantity, a number box appears after you choose it. Enter how many.
- Check the price rows at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the plus button to add the product to the cart.
The screen closes and the item is added to the cart.
Prices on the screen
Section titled “Prices on the screen”The bottom of the screen shows:
- Price: the product’s own price.
- Additional: the total of the extra prices for the options you chose.
- Total: Price plus Additional, for one item.
Tap the small arrow at the left of these rows to hide or show Price and Additional.
An option with an extra price shows that amount next to its name. Options that track stock may show how many are left in brackets.
Required options
Section titled “Required options”If a group is required and you leave it empty, the register shows a message starting with Required: and the group name, and it does not add the item. Choose an option in that group and try again.
Options that are out of stock
Section titled “Options that are out of stock”An option marked Out of Stock cannot be selected. Pick another option, or tell the customer it is not available.
Change the options after adding to the cart
Section titled “Change the options after adding to the cart”- In the cart, find the item.
- Tap the three-dot menu on the line.
- Tap Edit.
- Change the options.
- Tap Save (the disk icon).
If the order is already paid or in a state that cannot be edited, the menu shows View instead of Edit, and the options are read only.
To see what is selected without opening the product, tap the small arrow on the cart line. The chosen options and their extra prices are listed under the item name.
To reset the screen to its starting choices, tap the reset button on the left of the bottom bar.
