Email a receipt in Jovvie Point of Sale

You can email a customer a receipt for an order right from the Jovvie Point of Sale register. You can send it to any email address, and you can also save that address as the customer’s billing email.

  • Your store must be able to send email. Receipts are sent as an email named Order Receipt. An administrator or shop manager manages its wording in your store’s email settings.
  • The Email button must be shown on your station. An administrator or shop manager can hide it. See Show or hide register buttons.
  • Email is available for an order that is finished, which means it is no longer being edited in the cart. For example, an order you just paid for.
  1. Complete the sale. See Take a card payment with a Stripe reader, Take a card payment with an NMI terminal, or Take a cash payment.

  2. On the order screen that appears, click Email.

    The Email Receipt window opens.

  3. In Send receipt to, enter the customer’s email address.

  4. To keep this address on the order as the billing email, turn on Save as billing email address.

  5. Click Send to send the receipt and keep the window open.

To send it and close the window in one go, click Send & Close instead.

You see Email sending… while the message is sent, then Message sent when it is done.

To close the window without sending, click Close.

Symptom: After you click Send or Send & Close, you see this message instead of Message sent.

Cause: The email address has a typo, or your store could not send the email.

Fix:

  1. Check the address for typos.
  2. Click Send again.
  3. If it still fails, ask an administrator or shop manager to check that your store can send email.

The Orders panel does not have an Email button. To email a receipt for an order from earlier, open that order in the register first. An administrator or shop manager can do this from your dashboard. See See Point of Sale orders in your dashboard.
